Wow that's a lot of helicopters.
Helicopters are an obvous choice for Technic since they often have open
girder construction, just like Technic, and making things rotate is the
core function of Technic.
They vary widely in size and style, but
are fairly common in features with a couple of exceptions. The
first,
852, is the only one with collective
pitch. A couple of
the others pitch the entire rotor blade, which is neat, but is not what
real helicopters do.
8856 has lots of
features and is probably
the best overall set. But for big first impressions, the
8485
Control Center is unbeatable. I wore out so many batteries on
this thing that I bought a transformer from Radio Shack and now have it
plugged into electricity full time in my display.
